BMW M2 CS
At the 2019 Los Angeles Auto Show, BMW is set to announce the arrival of the much anticipated M2 CS. The BMW M2 is the successor of the larger known 1M. The BMW M2 CS has been rumoured to have been running laps of the Nurburgring and going through the final checks and tests before its official release.
So what do we know about the M2 CS? The new BMW M2 CS will be receiving a carbon fibre bonnet, a carbon fibre roof with a new design, carbon fibre front splitter, carbon fibre rear spoiler, carbon fibre rear diffuser and carbon fibre side mirrors. That's a whole host of carbon fibre but looking at existing CS models nothing we're not already familiar with.
Inside the cockpit there are no signs of BMW holding back that carbon fibre with the centre console and door handles also being carbon. Alcantara steering wheel and interior contrasted with red stitching will pair wonderfully with the M competition seats that are found in the M4 CS.
The part we've all been waiting for...Performance. Under the bonnet BMW are still using the same 3.0 flat six twin turbo-charged engine but tuned to around a whopping 450bhp and 550nm of torque which is sent straight to the rear wheels via a manual 6 speed gearbox or an optional 7-speed duel clutch gearbox. A modified M Performance exhaust will give the M2 CS that extra tone that the standard M2 was missing.
Other standard features include the Adaptive M Suspension, 19 inch 763M style wheels in either Jet Black high gloss or Gold matte. The braking power is provided by a standard M Sport braking system with red calipers or the optional, and more expensive, M-Carbon ceramic brakes.
It is rumoured that there will be limited numbers of the M2 CS set to be released with numbers reported to be slightly under the 2000's mark and costing around £50,000. First test drives are expected in early 2020 with deliveries scheduled for Summer of next year.
