CAR OF THE MONTH DECEMBER 2016
This month we are going to discuss our own company E46 M3 track car. Starting with the exterior, the first thing you notice is the colour. It is painted in Lamborghini Orange that highlights the aggressive nature of the car. The front end features A CSL style front bumper complete with CSL full-length carbon lip. On top of the CSL lip, we also have canards for the corners of the bumper and a custom Carbon extended aero splitter complete with aluminum supporting struts to help with down-force on the track.
The car also has a full Carbon GTR vented bonnet, Reiger side skirts with Mstyle carbon fibre side skirt extensions. Moving on to the rear we have a part Carbon CSL style rear diffuser, sitting underneath a Carbon CSL boot-lid that has been painted to leave just the edge of the duck-tail in carbon fibre along with a carbon fibre large aero wing, once again to help with down-force. Completing the exterior is an upgraded light package, featuring LED rear lamps in red/smoke, smoked side repeaters and headlamps with retro-fitted super bright LED angel eye rings.
The interior has been left relatively sedate, with Corbeau bucket seats in the front with full 5 point race harnesses. Supporting and anchoring the race harnesses is a rear cage built around the factory leather and to complete the vehicle are a set of extended SMG paddles and carbon fibre interior trims.
The performance modifications is what really makes this E46 M3, it has a ESS-550 supercharger kit to help it put out some impressive yet linear power along with forged conrod bolts, up-rated bearings, bottom end rebuilt & balanced and up-rated cam shaft rockers. You do not need to do this extensive engine work, it is merely a recommendation however some of the staff here are of ‘mixed ability’ so we thought it better to be safe than sorry! This power is put through the corners using H&R anti-roll bars and H&R clubsport suspension, and it is able to brake for these corners using a huge set of AP big brakes, with 6 Piston front calipers and 4 piston rears along with braided brake lines.
This car is truly a well balanced track weapon that surprises a few super cars on the track. Brands Hatch and Silverstone is this M3’s usual stomping ground, if you ever see us at a track please come over and say hi!
